Marc Jacobs 2005 S/S (ANALYSIS)

THEME:
GIRLISH & LADYLIKE
"I just want to make things that are beautiful," Mr. Jacobs said after his show. - 15/SEP/04

To match with the theme, Marc Jacobs used different elements:

MUSIC...
He used a song called "BEAUTIFUL" by Christina Aguilera, which basically tells the theme.

SETTINGS...
The entrance was totally different from the normal one. This one was decorated with 450000 warm-colored roses (as reported in a website), which basically displays the FEMININE theme, since flowers represent females, to a certain extent.

(Can you see the entrance behind Marc?)

COLORS...
As warm colors have long been treated as "women colors" (refer to the ladies' washroom sign), the use of WARM COLORS creates a more FEMININE feeling:

The use of MONOCHROMATIC COLOR SCHEME and PRINCIPLE OF RESEMBLENCE also gives a soothing effect to collaborate with the LADYLIKE theme because ladylike females are heartwarming symbols for men:

All of the above is selecting light and dark colors of the same hue.

DOMINANT COLOR:
RED
