THEME: LIGHT
To match with the theme, Marc Jacobs used different elements:
MUSIC...
He used the MINIMALIST song composed by Pachelbel and remixed by Brian Eno, which suits the LIGHT theme, since minimalist songs are simpler in melody. This song is also well-known for its chord progression, which matches with the critic of STRANGELY BEAUTY, as chord progression was regarded as against the tradional music pieces in the past but people thought that it was easy-listening at the same time.
SETTING...
Just like the 2006 S/S collection, SEMPHASIS OF COLORS and PRINCIPLE OF FAMILARITY were used. For EMPHASIS OF COLORS, the colors were used in the backdrop by adavancing hues, values and intensity. For PRINCIPLE OF FAMILARITY, the colors used are in an earthy tone, related more to the nature. MORE GREEN COLORS with high chroma are used this time, compared to the dominance of khaki and brown, creating a spring and lighter mood.
The backdrop is designed as a forest deep inside the mountains with a river in the middle, just like being at the nature. This demonstrates a SPRING feeling too.
COLORS...
Just like the previous two collections, Marc Jacobs did not make use of lots of color schemes for this collection. He mainly used the color scheme of ACROMATIC, by applying BLACKS,GREYS and WHITES in the majority of the outfits. These colors show a more minimalist feeling and a lighter mood.
